Dr. Art Sutherland will speak at the Lunch and Learn Series hosted by Gifts of Life Ministries, Tuesday, November 19, 2013 @ 12:00 p.m. The church is located at 1542 Jackson Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Lunch and Learn is a new ministry of the church designed to foster to a better understanding of topics that are germane to people in the community. Speakers in this series will typically speak on topics straight from the headlines. Dr. Sutherland's talk will focus on THE AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE ACT (OBAMACARE). Come out and get your questions answered about the act and how to enroll.
Dr. Sutherland is a retired physician. He is working with The Healthy Memphis Common Table to improving health literacy and to eliminate social disparities and health care inquities. He is also the Tennessee Coordinator, and a National Board Member of Physicians for a National Health Program-advocating for a Singer-Payer system of national health care reform to cover everyone in our country. PNHP has been working for health care justice for over 25 years and is on record that "Health Care is a Human Right". Dr. Sutherland lives in Memphis and attends St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He also is a member of the Memphis School of Servant Leadership and is a co-facilitator of the school's Social Justice Encounter course.
