The National Council of Black Studies accepted the paper of our Deacon in Training, Kimberley Travers for presentation at its 36th Annual Conference in Atlanta Georgia, March 7-10, 2012. Travers paper titled "The Prophetic Rhetoric of Howard Thurman," calls for us to reexamine Thurman's rhetorical legacy by placing him instead of in the mystic tradition, within the prophetic one. Travers currently is a Master of Arts and Religion student at
Memphis Theological Seminary and a Netters Scholar.
